From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his debts and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their status as key figures in the influential clan could enable the group access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Seekers and Planners groups.
Fans can anticipate learning which characters will be where in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
