Vinted Members Express Anger Regarding Size Updates

Members of the platform have expressed outrage due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.

This online marketplace has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all users about the change.

Social Media Backlash

Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.

The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms.

They have suggested members to review their products and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.

Size Classification Modifications

Earlier, the measurements included one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.

In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Member Accounts

One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.

Manual Updates

Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".

"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained.

Service Background

The app has more than 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.

It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
